Some clients cannot edit excel documents in place with office connector

I have some clients that cannot edit an excel document in place with confluence's office connector.

All are windows 7. I have a mix of office 2010 and 2013 working and not working - there appears to be little rhyme or reason to it.

I am using Confluence 5.3.

I now have it working for all clients. I checked the: Allow authentication tokens in the URL path box on the office connector screen. Not sure why the same URL worked for some folks and not others without this checked.
