I created an export off of Confluence 4.3.3 and imported it into a fresh install of Confluence 4.3.7. I don't see any errors and it says that it was sucessful. The search index and the did you mean index have been built.
However, I am not seeing ANY spaces within the Spaces Directory. I can see all the tabs, but nothing is within the tabs. BUT I can see Spaces on my dashboard and when I try to go to dashboard I am able to go into the pages. When I do a search for a page, no suggestions come up.
The following does not apply to my case:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Spaces+are+not+Being+Displayed+on+Dashboard+or+in+Spaces+Directory
All my space status are CURRENT.
Hi Eli,
Please try reindexing:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Content+Index+Administration
If that doesn't work please try rebuilding the indexes from scratch:

Hello,
This did not have any effect. What data does it retrieve to get the spaces in the tabs within the Spaces Directory? While the tabs exist, there is nothing inside of each tab in Space Directory

Hi,
I have the same problem since last Confluence Cloud update (v. 1000.0.0-d1082ac). My spaces are not displayed anymore on the space directory (/wiki/spacedirectory/view.action).
It seems the 'indexing action' is disabled on Confluence Cloud (see https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Why-is-cloud-confluence-indexing-disabled/qaq-p/337558).
How can I solve this ?
Thanks in advance,
Valentin
