Hello,
Would any of you provide me a recommended set of confirmations (processors, memmory, HD) for hosting Jira and Confluence together?
We would like to have all in the same box (web and database) and we have estimated to have 20 users, 15 different projects and each one with about 2000 tickets in average. We are considreing to use Windows Server as OS and MSSQL as the database.
This is just to have an initial idea for the VM server we need. I have been reading the documentation and loosk like 2 cores, 4GB, 40GB HD will make the trick, but I feel it might be a little bit limited in resources.
Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Juan Luna
Take a look at these guides if you haven't already:

We run Jira and Confluence on separate vm's with around a 2k user base (non-concurrent). We run each box with 2 cores and 4GB of ram. Attachments will determine the Hdd size required for your needs. You can most likley run both Jira and Confluence on the specs you listed above. From what I've noticed the total number of issues/projects/pages doesn't seem to affect performance (except for a re-indexing) as much as the number of concurrent sessions. Your biggest concern would be on the ram, try 6GB if you can, this way you can dedicate 1GB Heap and up the permgen size without worring about starving the os of memory.
