In reality nothing other than the structure of the information. The definition could depend on how your company wants to define it.
I use the definition that a knowledge space is more loosely structured. A knowledge space might be used for brainstorming. People interact more. A document space might contain a paper on a person's position on a topic.
but I'm waiting for the day when Atlassian can offer concept maps (mind maps) as a blueprint to confluence, I think they are a key component when it comes to knowledge management

Hi @Kalos Bonasia, In Yoikee Creator https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.keinoby.confluence.plugins.yoikee-creator the mind maps are Space Blueprints. You can create, import and reuse your mind maps as space templates for your projects, products and so on. Each node in the mind map becomes a page, thus the radial hierarchy of the mind map becomes the page/sub-pages hierarchy of your spaces. In 10 days we are releasing the 2.0 version of Yoikee Creator, where we've changed the engine (more efficient), added mind maps as macros, and our favourite new feature: you can select in each node the type of page i.e., the page blueprint (jira report, meeting notes, blog post, etc.). Give it a try and let us know what do you think! Regards, Gorka
