Draw.io diagrams are stored as Confluence attachments. That means their data is stored on the file system of a server hosting the Confluence.
Sorry for reviving an old thread, but how does this work with Draw.io for Confluence Cloud? Is the data all stored within the Confluence instance on Atlassian Cloud or is anything stored on Draw.io's cloud?

To my knowledge it's all stored in the Atlassian Cloud. No outside communication.

Hi @Gareth Hanekom, to be precise, all data is stored in Atlassian as attachments, custom contents, or properties. We only get a volatile copy of a diagram (from our editor) when you perform an export to PDF which is only used to generate the PDF and then discarded immediately. This applies to draw.io for Confluence Server and Cloud. If you like to know more details, please have a look at our security statement (see https://drawio.link/dataprotection).
