I am attempting to do a restore from one company Confluence into another where the users are not the same. The restore was successful but no page can be accessed and requesting access does not work across instances.
How can I reset the permissions on the destination instance, or how can I export with full access rights?

It seems that this space was imported, and you will have to Recover permissions for it as you have mentioned the users are not the same from the source instance to the target instance.

No, I gut stuck more. I deleted the space and I tried to re-imported but I got the following error:

I would suggest to get the backend database checked - clear the content and reimport.

the database is in the cloud - no access. I cleared the content and tried again: same result

Florin - you should have atleast one common user id to login to the new confluence and give permissions to the rest of the new users.

there are 2 separate companies with no common infrastructure, one in UK and one in US at the end of a commercial collaboration. The received Confluence export was a zip file.

Were the previous users from Internal Directory or an External Directory ?
