java.lang.OutOfMemoryError while removing a space

Michael Rieger April 7, 2013

We tried to remove a seemingly normal space with about 95 pages. It took quite some time and before it got finished, a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError was thrown and server broke down (of course...).

Unfortunately, now heap dump was written. I cannot give any further information thus.

Did anyone encounter a similiar issue and found out more about it?

We are running Confluence 3.5.13.

Hello Michael,

OOM errors can happen in a Confluence instance due to many reasons, that normally consumes all the memory and generate this kind of error stack-trace, so in this case I would suggest you to review the following article that have a solution for this kind of problem:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/How+to+Fix+Out+of+Memory+Errors+by+Increasing+Available+Memory

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

LJ.
