×On some pages the "delete page tree" option appears in the ... menu and on some pages it does not. These several pages is in the same space and the pages are parent pages with multiple child pages. The space has Scroll Versions turned on if that is relevant. Does anyone know what causes this?
Hi, our plugin was not tested with the Scroll Version plugin. We will test the compatibility and post our results here but as your experience already imposes there might be problems.

Lukas
Which Confluence version are you on?

Lukas, it would be helpful if you could describe the logic used to determine if the option is displayed in the menu. We know it is omitted if there are no child pages, but there must be some other reasons as well.
Thank you

The only restrictions for viewing the item are iff it is a page (not a blog post etc.) and the page has children. I am suspecting that scroll does not use the default confluence structure but I can tell you more in a view minutes. Just installed Scroll Versions .

Unfortunately Scroll Versions changes the internal structure of confluence (as far as i can see). The page you are seeing is not actually the page in the internal tree structure. Therefore, the "hasChildren()
" does not return true as it is no operating on the right page. One would have to get the real page linked by Scroll. But that is quite a bit of work I guess.. Maybe someone from K15t ( @Nils Bier (K15t Software) ?) could provide some information about the internal structure?

Thank you for looking into this and explaining. Versions is a very useful plug-in for its purpose but there are number of side effects of using it.

Hi guys,
thanks for mentioning me here @Lukas Knoch [Rumpelcoders] - versioned pages created with Scroll Versions are created as child pages of the master page in a special naming pattern (.<Pagetitle> <vVersionname>) and hidden in the page tree (but for example visible in the "View in Hierarchy" view) (see our docs).
The "Delete Page Tree" option is only available on unversioned pages or when switching to the reader view (as you're then viewing the master page which actually has child pages). As we haven't tested the compatibility with the Delete Page Tree Addon completely, I'd recommend to use the built-in feature in Scroll Versions, as it comes with a similar functionality:

By clicking "Remove x descendant page(s)" you can define to delete whole subtrees in a space. Would that work for you?
Please note the difference between a remove in a specific version in Scroll Versions and the "Remove this page and all its versions":
Let me know if that helps.
Best,
Nils

Stephan, Thank you for the suggestion. We suspect our problem is related to compatibility problems between the plugin we are using and Scroll Versions, which keeps multiple versions of the same page. Have you tested your plugin with Scroll Versions?

James

... or move the pagetree in a new space named "to delete" and delete this space after moving the pages ... (just a workaround)
