search suggestions

When I search for something, it seems that the full word needs to be typed in, versus just part of the word, for it to locate the result.  I've attached images of an example.  Is there any way to fix this so that regex will match part of the word as well, instead of having to type in the full word?

Hi @Andy

also as Mirek wrote, i believe it´s not a normal behavior on your system. Confluence has no auto suggestion but with typing each letter, the result list should be displayed.

If you interested on a high qualtiy search solution for Confluence, iFinder Confluence Search is available at Atlassian Marketplace.

It helps even the confluence user without expert knowledge to search quite intuitively.

This enterprise search solution delivers top results based on linguistic analysis and offers many additional features. These articles may help you:

• iFinder Confluence Search

• iFinder Search Macro

Hi @Andy ,

I do not think that this is normal behavior. I type one or two characters and results are showing. You might need to probably rebuild content index from scratch which is mostly resolving that kind of problems

https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-rebuild-the-content-indexes-from-scratch-on-confluence-server-110035351.html

However it is nice to check nice flowchart here and read more how things are cached since there might be a different issue.

Hope it helps

I tried this.  Exact matches only still show up.

Oh that is not good. At least if you tried to rebuild the content from scratch.. Did you also tried other suggestions from the flow chart?

I actually think of those from the middle

Have you tried different browser, or ask someone else if he is also seeing the same behavior? What version are you actually on?
