This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Connecting Bitbucket Server to PostgreSQL
Hi Susan,
To see if Postgres is installed in a ubuntu/debian environment, you can run:
dpkg -l |grep -i postgres
Keep in mind that some software versions mentioned on Dragon Slaying might be obsolete and you need to use more recent versions. Anyway, if you find issues on that, please feel free to ask here or raise a support ticket with Atlassian .

Renato Rudnicki
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the link - I'm trying to Slay the Dragons on a VM Linux box and I'm having a heck of a time seeing the PostgreSQL installation. I can't see if the 8.4 version is installed after I run the command, "apt-get install postgresql-8.4" - so it's some other blocker for me. Any hints or links for a potential Dragon Slayer?
Susan
