Templates for blogs

Why isn't there an option to create templates for blog pages? We're interesting in creating an internal blog that would use the same format that eventually gets posted the Dashboard/Home page of our Confluence instance. I'm trying to creating a system that is simple enough that even my grandmother could create a post without having to worry or remember what the proper format of a front-page blog page should include.

There is a feature request for this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-4174. It is there long enough, but it will not get implemented anytime soon.

Ditto! I really need to create Blog Post templates. I keep thinking there's got to be a way.
