Hi, @Sturla Holand
I came across a couple of posts that might be able to help us understand the issue that you are facing here better:
Can you please confirm if the Companion app is able to connect to your localhost address to establish the trust first? If that does not help, please refer to the solution shared by Marisa?
What worked for us was uninstalling everything, clearing the installation directories, then going into Chrome and choose "Restore settings to original default" to ensure there are no popup blockers before reinstalling the plugin. We then managed to get the Trust window on the user's PC.
Let me know how it goes on your end. Thanks.
Hi Ahmad
Thanks for helping.
I still got the problem, but will soon try Marisas approach.
I have already tried uninstall, new installation, without success. But I use Chrome and have'nt tried the Chrome-part yet.
I know this will work in our environment because of success with my pc with our test-Confluence. same type of installation but different Confluence-URL.
The problem started (for me only) when the production-Confluence was established and I tried the Companion. I've read the "Proxy and SSL considerations" with interest, because on my first-try I was connected to the office-network by a VPN. Could this be a lead for you?
Nevertheless, I'll try Marisas recipe and let you know.

Hi Ahmad
Problem solved, but not on the first try.
First try:
Removed all the Companion files (I think) and reset the Chrome configuration.
Next time with Confluence, the Companion got downloaded and installed, but not successfully. The install circle circled for a while in the middle of the screen, then disappeared without saying anything. And edit attachment was not working.
Second try:
Removed all the Companion files once again. And now I searched the Windows Registry for the word Companion, and deleted alle the entries with Atlasssian Companion".
The install circle circled for a while in the middle of the screen, then disappeared without saying anything. No trust button.
But now it'¨s working. I click on an attachment, I click edit in the viewer, confirm the tool (I have successfuly tried Word and Excel), edits the file and gets the edited file back into Confluence.
It seems that registry was a key, but as I did not get the question "Connect to Confluence" and Trust, something obviosly was remaining from a previous installation (because it's working). Is there a certificate somewhere?
I did this without beeing admin on the pc.
Best regards Sturla
