Hi,
I've added my team to a new space - shared the link and added them as team members- but when they try to access it they receive a "space restricted" message. I am not sure why they're not able to see it as they are part of the team and have worked on other projects. Can you please help?
Hi Ana,
how have you added them to the space as a team? Are you sure that they have the "View" space permission?
Best, Max
Hi Max,
Many thanks for your quick response! I managed to give them "view" permission. How can I go about adding external members to the space? How can I add the client and make sure they only see what we want them to see? Any links would be very appreciated.
Many thanks again. Ana

Hi Ana,
you have to consider a few things here. How do you define "external members" in this use case. Are we talking about users (a person having an account and being able to log in to Confluence) or anonymous access (so without logging in)? Either approach has to be configured differently. But in general, Confluence is meant to be a very open system. So after you granted access to a space (or an instance) all content will be available if it hasn't been restricted (using space permissions for spaces and page restrictions for pages). So if you're not familiar with page restrictions and how they work and are inherited and permissions in general, see the links:
After that you should be able to think about a content structure suiting your use case! We can discuss any follow-up question here if you like. :)
Best, Max

Hi Max,
This is great, thank you very much! I've restricted access to the pages I want to keep to an inner circle and I think that's working well. I will let you know if I'm having any issues.
Thanks a lot for your help and support!
Ana
