Unsupported content error on Blog Post

Leeza November September 25, 2018

I have inserted text and images in a new blog post, when I attempt to publish it, I receive the _Unsupported Content_ error. I attempted removing all images, same result. There were initially links in the post, I removed those as well and still the same result. Not sure what the issue is here?

In terms of the text, it was copied from a Word doc and pasted into one cell, so a pretty basic post. Please assist with how I could possibly correct this.

Thanks,

Leeza

Hi there, Leeza.

Can I please check if you are running on Confluence Cloud or Server? If you are on Confluence Server, can you please let me know if there are any errors logged in the atlassian-confluence.log when the error was reproduced?

Additionally, were you able to paste the same content on a new blog post and confirm if the same error is observed? Does the content include any non-UTF characters?

Lastly, please provide the screen shot here so we can get a better overview of the specific error that you are seeing. Thank you.

Hi @AhmadDanial

We are using Confluence Cloud. I was however able to successfully upload the Blog Post, when reattempting. This was however a simple text upload - I added 2 images afterward. I was however not able to use any columns, or special formatting though.

The inital post, which has the error still appears in the menu though, with the attached result when selected: please advise as to how I can delete this?

Hi, Leeza.

Thank you for the confirmation. Since I was unable to reproduce the issue on my end:

I would be interested to gather more information to understand the problem better to see if this is specific to your Confluence site or it is impacting Confluence cloud in general:

  • What format and size of image did you attach to the blog post?
  • What column and special formatting you are referring to? Is it the one related to the text formatting or something else?

@AhmadDanial The images were in JPEG or PNG format and they weren't large files at all.

In terms of formatting, I was referring to the ability to insert columns and various text formats : these options were not available, even when I googled it, there was an article about the page layout button (which allows one to separate the blog into sections and add columns, etc), which should be available on the Blog post page, but isn't... I have previously added a question regarding this on the Community page.

Please advise how I would go about deleting the one blog post, as referred to in my initial post.
