In the editor, highlighting some word or string and pressing "[" gives you the option to Insert Link to Create Page. This is great, as it is a way of marking something that should probably have a page.
When clicking the link however, you aren't presented with the normal Create Page dialog. Instead, it takes you to the edit mode for a Blank Page, and skips the part where you would otherwise be able to select a template.
I would like to be able to select a template when clicking a link to create a page. Am I missing something? If this is not possible, is there already a feature request for this?
I'm 99.999% sure you can't do that yet. That would probably be a nice feature request ... don't hold your breath on it ever getting implemented in your lifetime though. :) They seem to dally on useful features.
In confluence v5 use the "Create from Template" macro

I don't think that is what he wants. I sounds like he wants placeholder links that when clicked on will ask you what template to use to create the page rather than just create a blank page.

Right, that macro could be useful, but is not exactly what I am talking about.
