Using crucible for confluence page collaboration

Volker Hetzer January 9, 2015

Hi people!

It's late, I'm tired and somehow I got this idea:

The project I'm working on will not result in source code but things like strategies, business processes and such. The main artifacts will be confluence wiki pages.

The idea is that someone puts up a document (i.e. marked up text), other members of the project team can comment on it, the document will get changed and so on.

But it is still a real project, with JIRA tasks like "figure out a nice deployment process" and everything.

But, for me the great tool for commenting on text, line by line (like items on a list) is - crucible!

So, in a perfect world I could take a wiki page, version it in mercurial, do smart commits and then collect feedback in the shape of a code review.

Is this even possible? Would this require something like using a build server to modify confluence wiki pages? Hopefully not.

There is this old blog: Reviewing wiki documentation via Crucible

Maybe you should try it out and report back on how it went for you.
