We don't need versions in the edited document

Suvidhaa Subramani June 17, 2022 edited

Requirement:

We are editing a document that is attached to the Confluence page online using Atlassian Companion app. When we update the document and upload it again, we could see the Versions getting updated. But we don’t need any version to be maintained. We need only the document in latest one.

Is this possible by changing any settings?

@Suvidhaa Subramani

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

with Confluence Datacenter versions newer than 7.16 you have the option to define retention rules to delete older versions of pages/attachments, think this is the way forward for you

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/set-retention-rules-to-delete-unwanted-data-1108681072.html

If you are still on a server instance than you might want to keep an eye on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-36015 or check out the community article https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Script-to-delete-attachment-s-version/qaq-p/1101322

Hope that helps

Kurt
