Just a heads up: On March 24, 2025, starting at 4:30pm CDT / 19:30 UTC, the site will be undergoing scheduled maintenance for a few hours. During this time, the site might be unavailable for a short while. Thanks for your patience.
×I am trying to change the oauth settings in jira and confluence to make the knowledgebase work. However, in order to do that you need to be a system administrator.
Unfortunately, we don't seem to have one and without that, you can't get a system administrator.
It's a catch 22...
Help !

Ok. It's almost (but not completely) impossible to not have a System Administrator account. But that does not necessarily mean you have the login for it or even know which account it might be!
https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/restore-passwords-to-recover-admin-user-rights-158390.html covers it though, giving you a temporary sysadmin account (I recommend you use it, get in, make sure you have another account with sysadmin and you can log in as them, and then delete this one!)
