What is the difference between Deck of Cards, Tabs Container, Local Tabs, Local Tab Groups?

Both achieve the functionality to separate content by tabs.

I'm having trouble with anchor links to the tabbed sections and makes me wonder what are the differences with these options?

Hello @Bea Tea

Confluence does not come with a native solution for creating tabs. You use apps from the Marketplace that offer this functionality. And it looks like you have several such apps in use.

Local Tab Group and Local Tabs macros are part of the Navitabs app.

Tabs container is provided by the Content Formatting Macros.

Deck of Cards comes with the Composition Tabs app.

If you can't find the answer in the linked documentation, I recommend you to search for these apps in the Marketplace and contact the vendor's helpdesk directly under "Support".

@Mattia _bitvoodoo ag_ Thanks for the helpful links. It sounds like they do the same things but are built by different companies.

@Bea Tea

Yes, Mattia is right, for tabs, you need an app from the marketplace. As you said they mainly do similar things but each has its own feature set. You can install free trial versions of each of them and consider which works for you the best.

Mattia has mentioned Content Formatting Macros. The main its difference from other solutions is that this app includes not only tabs macro but a complex of all must-have features for content formatting in Confluence (that are not built-in). For example: numbered headings, buttons, footnotes, cards, banners, etc.

So the main benefit of this app is that it allows you to save time and money by having key content formatting features in one app, instead of searching and working with a list of different apps (that is more expensive)

If you have any questions let me know, I will be happy to help (Content Formatting Macros for Confluence is created by my team)

Hi @Bea Tea

These are not vanilla functions of Confluence.

What app are you using in Confluence?
