Where to find max file descriptor value in terminal

Enrico Jr_ Rongavilla September 8, 2023

Hi Team,

We have confluence 8.3.2 DC. Is there any directory which I can find the value of max file descriptor besides downloading support zip file?

To see the value, you'd just need to run ulimit -Sn for soft limit and ulimit -Hn for hard limit(Confluence shows the hard limit in the support zip). You can change this value permanently from /etc/security/limits.conf file (make sure to set the value for the user who is running the Confluence)

Hi Sayed ,

Thank you for your quick response really appreciate it. Sorry if my question is a bit confusing we run confluence as a service and all our config is on puppet. I just changed the value of limits.conf now the question is is there any way which I can verify the changed has been applied on terminal besides downloading support zip?
