Which Spaces use what macros?

We have a very large number of active spaces in our Confluence, over 500.   When an upgrade comes up for consideration, some macros need special attention otherwise the space or page may break.  Sometimes we would like to notify all the users of a particular macro about a new or better use.

All of this depends on knowing what spaces have what macros.  Is there anyway, even by looking at the Confluence database, to know this kind of information?

Hi Greg,

One way to determine macro usage through search. You can type in "macroName: <macroname>*" in the search bar to search for a particular macro. For example, to find out which pages use the "cheese" macro, you would search for "macroName: cheese*". The results will return the page name, as well as the space that page appears in. More details here: http://ffeathers.wordpress.com/2011/11/04/how-to-search-confluence-for-usage-of-a-macro/

Hope this helps!

Brian
