As the UWC tools seem to be very incompletely and unstable, I am considering using a different approach on converting different wikis to Confluence, by concerting them first to a wiki format the has a better support in UWC.

The question is which one it would be? Obviously not MoinMoin, maybe MediaWiki one?

As Confluence can import HTML, it would be worth a test to just export some pages as HTML and import them into Confluence to see how much rejiggering needs to be done.
