Why am I getting an http 404 error when trying to install Confluence?

I am trying to install Confluence 5.7.4 on Windows. I go through the install wizard just fine but at the launch of the site I get an http 404 error and then I can continue with the install. Any input?

Kathy, 

One of the causes for 404 could be related to "URL not found". Perhaps the network config, or another inside the installation itself. For that, have you considered re-install the application and use the localhost address to see if we will have the same result?

PS: As mentioned by Chander, the log files from <Confluence_Home/logs> folder would help you to get some clues.
