Why isn't the (awesome) wiki not accessible to all?
https://jira.atlassian.com/i#browse/CONF-12383
Please vote it, and watch it, and comment it, and let's get the juice they need to make Confluence awesome for all!
First, of all probably becasue Atlassian is not a US company. Secondly, 508 is only mandatory to federal agencies. Thirdly, it actually does have most of if not all of the features in that JIRA ticket. What part of that JIRA ticket are not seeing in Confluence?
Oh hey thanks for the reply. Yeah, I hear you. I not being an imperialist, just suggesting the idea based on economic sense. 508 is only A way to go, not THE way to go on making software accessible to people. Some approach, is better than none.
I know I can answer my management's 508 concerns with "complies with X standard 4.9.1.5.1.2.3.1.1" and that would be a start.
The question is probably "why is confluence low on alt-text?". I used to read for the blind and I have been lucky enough to work with two totally elite old-skool hackers who happened to be blind so I want to represent. Thanks again.

Oh yeah I hear you, but, the mgmt. is looking for a blanket, simple "yes/no" answer on the product as a whole.

When you add an image to a page you can put alt text on the image. They don't force you to, but you can put it in.
