Windows cannot open file, "Atlassian Companion: 1555593614". Please advise how to install the app.

Downloaded Windows version of Companion app installation and received a message that Windows cannot open the file. Is there a program or something else I need to download in order to install the companion application?

Liz, as I understand, you need to install the Companion app but Windows throws an error when you try to do so. Is that correct?

You could try the Windows .msi installer, as explained here:

Install the Companion app via Microsoft Installer (MSI)

Further, if you are not the system admin, you might need to ask for your IT personnel to install it for you. Also, you need to take note that the Companion App does not work as intended in session based virtual desktops, as seen here:

One more thing, could you clarify if the error that Windows throws is exactly the one at the title:

• Windows cannot open file, "Atlassian Companion: 1555593614".

If windows is not able to open the file, we could try to re-download the file to try and exclude a corrupt file as root cause of this.

Before I forget. Were you able to try and install the Companion in another Computer other than the affected one?
