We are migrating our Confluence spaces to an instance that uses a different format for username. Example we use frank.smith new systems uses fsmith.
Our production server uses Crowd to authenticate against a Windows AD server.
My strategy to resolve the name issus was to:
Export/import the spaces to a migration server without external authorization
Use CLI to create local user accounts that match external accounts
Rename the local userids of the accounts to be the userids of the new server
Export the spaces for import into the target instance.
I'm manually renamed some the the userids and it seems to do what I want, changing authorship/ownership of pages/attachments. However, I don't see a way to rename 200+ accounts in bulk. This is a process I will need to repeat several times.
Any ideas on how to script this task?
I did find a plugin for only $230 that could change Confluence usernames in bulk, however the plugin is no longer sold for Confluence server!
Any ideas? I haven't found an alternate solution...
