filter confluence content based on checkbox selections

Our organization is creating a knowledge base in confluence.  We would like a left hand panel listing checkboxes with topics.  The body of the page would refresh (filter) based on selections.  We would like to model after the Atlassian Agile Playbook.  Any ideas how to make this work?
