ESTERBEN January 7, 2024

Hey,

How will Jira be affected when trying to upgrade Confluence which is linked to Jira?

Version of jira today- 9.4.8

We want to upgrade the version in Confluence to -8.5.4.

Thanks.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It will have no effect on Jira.

If the releases of Jira and Confluence were very different in time, then you might need to update the calls that the two make to each other when they are "integrated", but more recent versions are much more widely compatible.  If your Confluence were version 2.something, or Jira was version 4 or lower, then you definitely would need to change how they are connected, and I would check the integrations if they were on higher versions a long way apart.  But you won't have a problem combining any version of Confluence 7+ with any version of Jira 8+ (and even older versions are usually just a case of "we don't offer as much functionality in talking to the other one")
