Wierd configuration between jira and confluence

Dear all,

We have a customer who has the following configuration :

Jira DC user directory is connected to an LDAP central user management
Confluence DC is configure to user Jira as the source for user management.

For that user directory for confluence is of Type Atlassian crowd . In this configuration the server url is the Jira DC host define as http://<machineName>:8080

  1. We have sub-groups define in LDAP . When we sync jira, the sub groups gets created in Jira as flatten group succesfully ( we have Netsed group enabled)
  2. When we do the sync from confluence, sub groups as flatten are not created in confluence as it is in Jira ( Nested group is enable too)

When I check the trouble shooting doc , is it mention to check the crown console.

But we are not using any pay crowd server for user management

Q1 : Where to check this console stuff as we seems to used a kind of embeded crowd ?

Q2 : Any idea why sub-groups get create in Jira and not in confluence?

Thanks for help

regars
