Application ID of the Application links keeps changing

Hi Community , 

We have application links connecting from JIRA to confluence and vice versa . 

The testing team developed the script that can actually check the connection 

unfortunately  the test cases are failing and we figured it its because of the change in the application ID . 

We would like to know the background on how the application ID are given to a link and how they can be configured to be unchanged .  

Any Help on this topic would be highly appreciated
