Is there a timeframe for accepted stories to be considered in velocity?

Even after excluding stories that are not linked to features that are accepted in a specific PI, the total story did NOT match the Feature forecast/velocity report in Jira Align. The team is thinking there may be more logic to the Jira Align velocity calculation. For example - Is there a rule around when a story is accepted? If accepted after the end of the last day of the last sprint, is it still included in the velocity?

@Kimberly Kimmick - Stories accepted after a sprint ends will be included in that sprint velocity.
