Streamline access requests and monitor interest in new apps in Atlassian Administration

Hi Community! I'm Betty, a Product Marketing Manager focusing on Atlassian Administration. We're excited to introduce two new features that simplify access requests and give admins better visibility into the Marketplace apps your users are interested in.

Discover features to simplify access requests and track user app interests

We know you have a lot on your plate, balancing access requests and making sure your teams have the apps they need to stay innovative. But as the requests pile up, it can become challenging to manage. On top of that, choosing Marketplace apps that fit the company’s strategy can be tricky without a clear view of which new Marketplace apps users are most interested in.

With these in mind, we’re excited to introduce new features designed to make your life easier:

  • Access requests: We’ve surfaced users' access requests from the site-level to org-level, so you can conveniently review all access requests in a single list and review, approve, or deny access with a few clicks.

  • User interests: Instead of tracking manually, you can now see a comprehensive report of the Marketplace apps that your users are interested in so you can plan and expand confidently.

Who’s this available for?

  • Organization admins and Site admins with centralized user management

  • Organization admins with original user management

  • Organizations on the Standard, Premium, and Enterprise plan

Where can you find it?

Go to Atlassian AdministrationSelect your organization if you have more than one → Then go to ProductsUser requests. You’ll see there are two tabs on the page: Access requests and User interests

Hi @Betty Sheu . My enterprise team and I have so much feedback and questions for you regarding user-generated access and app requests. :-)

Would it be possible to schedule a call to discuss?

@Betty Sheu thanks for the publish and the updated experience. I'm looking forward to being able to manage more from a single pane of glass in our Cloud Premium environment.

Hi,

Access reques was there already so there's not much of a change.

As administrator I would appreciate if in User interests I would be able to see who specifically is interested and not just see number.

I agree with Tomas  https://community.atlassian.com/forums/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/3768644 ,

There is a big difference between how many and who is requesting !

It would provide insights into why they are interested if we know who ;-)

I'd be curious what this looks likes on the audit logs.  I have invites off because w/out Guard you can't tell who added user (shows system).  Now with Guard (which we have for 1/4 of our users) auditing shows which user access admin added a person, but I'm guessing 'who' invited them is not available.  Thus for now will stick w/the support project to keep track of who/what.

Hi @Betty Sheu ,

This all looks very amazing, but how about adding the feature that disables the app request all together? This ticket has more than sufficient votes and requests from a large number of users/customers/admins that do no want this option active in their site(s).

Any chance of adding it to the list of things to do?

Thanks,
--- Jacques.

@Betty Sheu It looks great!

Do you have any public metric about how frequently a regular user requests an app? Does it actually happen that a regular user starts browsing the embedded Marketplace and requests an app if he/she likes it?
