Hi

When ITSM project created in JSM we have below fields are created automatically.

Planned Start

Planned End

Actual Start

Actual End

How we can set a condition that Actual Start and Actual End dates should be fall under Planned Start and Planned end.

If you provide current or Previous date in Actual start when compare to Planned Start value then it has throw an error and Actual End value should not cross/exceeds the Planned end Date value.

Thanks,
Sekhar.

Hello @sekhar reddy

Jira does not have any native functionality that lets you validate one field compared to another when you are editing fields. The options available for that are:

1. Limit the editing of the fields you want to validate to a workflow transition where you can add a Validator that uses the Date Compare function.

2. Investigate third party apps that might could give you the ability to add a validator when editing a field.

3. Set up a report to check for such discrepancies after the fields are edited and notify somebody.

4. Use an Automation Rule to check for the discrepancy after the field has been edited and saved and take some action (notify somebody, or revert to the pre-edit value).
