Automation for Jira - How to fetch AD user attributes using A4J rules?

Hello there,

I hope you are doing well.

I am trying to achieve the following scenario using Automation for Jira (A4J).

Scenario:

Active Directory: Microsoft

The user Authenticates from the AD, and all the user profile attributes (manager, director, department, phone) are in the AD.

Requirement:

Whenever a user creates a request from the Jira service management portal, the approver field must be set as a requester manager automatically (must be fetch from the AD).

Please guide me with the step-by-step rules & steps.

Regards,

Sami S.

Hi @Sami Ahmed Shaik ,

The requested feature is not available in A4J at the moment.

The ideal workaround is to store your users/people schema in Assets and then use A4J rules to fetch the reporter's manager or other fields dynamically.

Thanks,
