We updated Service Desk from 3.12 to 4.0.1 and automation for the project never triggers.
Getting nothing in the log, and cant figure out why. We also use the plugin automation for Jira and it works, we tried to disable that plugin with no success.

Hi Patrik,

Sorry to report, but it looks like you have encountered a recently discovered bug that affects Jira Service Desk 4.0.1 sites that utilize a MS SQL database on the back end.  There is a bug about this in JSDSERVER-6252

I would recommend watching and voting on that bug ticket so that you can be updated as soon as a fixed version is released or a work-around is found for this issue.

Regards,

Andy

This worked as workaround for us.

Another workaround is to modify the MS SQL library which is shipped with Service Desk 4.0.1, and which is causing all these bugs

  1. Stop JIRA
  2. Move the MS SQL driver mssql-jdbc-7.2.0.jre8.jar from the folder below (please make a backup of it or move it to a temporary folder)
    <JIRA_INSTALLATION_FOLDER>/lib
  1. Copy the driver mssql-jdbc-6.2.1.jre8.jar to the same folder (you can find this driver by downloading the JIRA Service Desk server version 4.0.0 from this link and clicking on "All Server versions" to select 4.0.0)
  2. Start JIRA
