Confirmation message when passing phase.

Ronaldo Rosales June 24, 2022

Hello dear community.

I would like to know if there is any way to add a confirmation window before moving from one phase to another, for example from open to closed saying: "Once the ticket is closed you will not be able to manage it" and be able to answer Continue or No.

And additionally if the ticket is closed, not allow me to edit anything for reading only.

Thank you very much in advance.

@Ronaldo Rosales -

You can accomplish this by customizing your WF in your project.

1) Create a custom field (Message Custom Field (for edit) data type))

2) Create a special context just for your specific JSM project if you don't want it to be applied to all projects. In my example, I created a special context just for one project (GIAPPSJSM)

3) For the context, enter the default value -

In the default value enter something like this "*Please note that once the ticket is closed you will not be able to manage it.  Click "Close" or "Cancel"*"  NOTE - If you need to update the default value again, make sure you need to remove all html tags.  I used the "*" Wiki-markup to make the value bold.  So you will simply just replace the existing default value and prefix and suffix the new value with "*" and then save the changes.

4) Create a custom screen (to be used in your WF for the transition which moves into the CLOSE status. In the new screen, add the new custom field created above.

5) Edit the WF that you wanted.  Project settings >> Workflows.

6) Locate the transition that goes into the CLOSE status and edit it.

6a) Associate the custom screen created above to the transition in question and move back to the WF statuses view again.

6b) To lockdown editing after an issue is CLOSED, click "View Properties" for the CLOSED step (status)

6c) Add in the following property key and value pair -

7) Publish the WF to save the changes above.  NOTE - If the existing WF is shared with other projects and you don't want to impact other projects, then remember to make a copy of the existing WF first.  Make your changes to the copied WF, then associate it to your specific project and then publish it.

8) This is what you will see when you move your issue to CLOSE (pop-up screen)

As a reminder, locking down editing for closed issues may not be recommended, so please make sure you discuss it among with your team before the implementation of this action.

Hope this helps.

I understand, thank a lot.

Finally I would like to know how I can make the ticket read-only when it is closed?

Thanks for your answer friend, it is very valuable, I am going to try it and tell you how it went.

Yes, it is precisely a requirement that the problem cannot be edited, read only, is there a way to do it?

I'll be waiting for your answer, thanks.
