Hey there,
In the customer portal, users can change their language under profile settings.
Although, there is a huge list of languages they can choose even though I don't have those languages enabled in JIRA service desk. In fact, I don't have those languages installed or what so ever.
Is there a way to delete those out of the portal? I only want to have English and German.
I am using JIRA cloud.
Cheers
Hi Eelke,
I'm afraid that it is not possible to remove the languages. However, if you only have English and German, it does not matter which language they choose as all the notifications and portal texts will follow the default option which is either English or German (whichever you selected as default) if their selected language is not one of your configured language.

Hi @Yousaf,
Your customers can choose any language they want but if their selected language is not an available language you set in your project, their language will follow the default language (notification, request type names, portal name, etc)

Hello @Nabil,
1. My customers should not have a choice of any languages other than English and German.
2. If I choose Italian for example, then the notifications etc are in German, yes. But the search bar and all other buttons/texts that can not be changed by me are in Italian.

I see what you are referring to @Yousaf.
# There are no features to limit a customer to be able to have exactly 2 languages only. The customers should have their choice of preferred language which they would prefer
# The search bar, buttons and text will follow the user's preferred language. The only configurable items which you could enforce are the Request Types, Portal, Workflow, and notifications.

Just pushing this up..
Is there still no way to limit the languages? Or maybe delete them from Jira/Customer Portal?
Thanks!

I've noticed that you can disable the language in add-ons/system, the users cannot anymore select them. But I don't know the impact, except this one :
It seems that you have to keep English US and UK
