Formatting options for the Description field in Jira Service Desk Ticket

We would like our customers to be able to see these formatting options in the Description field on the customer facing ticket in JIRA Service desk. How can we have these displayed?

Bugga. Voted. Using a plugin now to achieve this but it would be better if these suggestions were incorporated into JSD rather than a plugin.
