We have deployed Jira Service Desk.
Objective:
to track, record and report on planned maintenance activities and hours vs actual
Steps taken :
The expected outcome:
Maintenance tasks would be assigned to a respective asset. Once completed and resolved, would be re populate the calendar. This would allow the ability to display planned v actual task by asset.
This was not possible as the only project type that is able to assign an asset to a task is a Service Desk.
We subsequently created a Service Desk Project to track Maintenance tasks. Where the task would be named after the asset, the asset assigned to the task and subtasks created to list the maintenance activity.
As you can imagine based on the asset categories listed the number of subtasks per maintenance tasks for a calendar year is 20+ . Is there a better way or a add on that can achieve this ?
Hello,
Have a look at the Insight plugin:
Thank you , . I would install the trial and let you know how it goes
Do you know if I would be able to export form Asset Tracker for Jira to Insight ?

Insight supports multiple data sources. If there is no connector for Asset Tracker, you can always export data to a csv file and load the file to Insight

Hello Dwayne,
Have a look at the Assets and Inventory plugin too, it has Service Desk integration, CSV file Import, JIRA style Asset Navigator and many more features...
Cheers
Deniz
