I'd like to know how I set up the template comments for specific people to use. Not for everyone who use JIRA.

Cloud someone provide solution or suggestion? Thanks.

Information
1.Adaptavist ScriptRunner for JIRA (Version: 5.5.0)
2.Template comments for JIRA Service Desk (Version: 1.0.10)
3. JIRA server v7.3.5

Hi Teresa,

Thank you for your question.

I can confirm that the template comments functionality is not available inside of Jira Cloud meaning that you configure template comments in Jira Cloud.

The reason for this is due to the fact there are some significant differences between ScriptRunner for Cloud vs Server based on restrictions within the Atlassian Cloud platform as described inside of the documentation page here.

Currently, Atlassian does not provide enough of the REST APIs that we need in order to implement this same functionality that the server version of the add-on includes and you can see the built-in scripts which are currently included inside of the documentation page here

However, I can confirm that if you are using Jira Server then you can add a new template comment by:

  1. Clicking on the administration cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. Clicking on the Add-ons option in the drop-down menu.
  3. On the page that is displayed located the TEMPLATE COMMENTS FOR JSD option in the left-hand menu bar and click on the Template Comments for JSD link.
  4. On the screen that is displayed scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the Create new link.
  5. On the screen that is displayed fill in the form to create the comment you require and click the Save button to add the new comment.

Please note the page located here provides more details on how to configure template comments and may prove a useful reference guide.

I tried the steps mentioned above to enable for Jira Server and I do not see an option to select a template when adding a comment...

Hi I found this really useful as we are currently migrating from JIRA Server to JIRA Cloud.

We use Template comments for JIRA Service Desk heavily.

Does Adaptavist have a solution for canned responses in JIRA Cloud?

Thanks

Bhav
