Change Management Approvals and Pre-Approved Changes

We've managed to leverage Service Desk for getting a change management setup to a point near using in production. But there are two big hurdles.

 

  1. For Standard or Pre-Approved Changes - need it to be a drop-down list of pre-populated requests that are preferably Normal requests that have been approved to become Standard.
  2. Need to require that at least one approver whether just one or many approvers are chosen is requester's manager. So maybe just a way to auto-populate manager of the person creating request and give option of additional approvers...all in one workflow step.

I can give any better explanation if needed, but these don't appear to be built-in features. Still seems that Service Desk isn't really there yet for change requests.
