Cloning Jira Service Desk ticket to Jira Core

We want to clone a Jira Service Desk ticket to Jira Core I've tried the option "Create linked issue" as well as cloning and moving but I have not succeed.


The problem is that the issue can only be cloned into another Jira Service Desk project. I can't clone it into Jira Core. However, I'm able to create the issues separately in JIRA Service Desk and Jira Core and link them together.

In a previous thread I was told that the reason you are unable to link issues from JIRA Service Desk to JIRA Core is because we were running the software as two separate instances (Jira Service Desk and Jira core in different servers. Although, we can't perform this action because it goes against our company policies. We have JIRA service desk available for customers and accesible from outside and JIRA Core only available to employees connected to our VPN.

Is there anything that we can do?

As @Peter Bengov just rightly mentioned, that you can use a 3rd party tool to sync/clone tickets between servers and apps.

I'm part of the Exalate team, a synchronization solution for Jira to Jira integration.

It keeps autonomy. That means both Jira's can be set-up and configured differently.

It's mega flexible, you can sync all types of information, including comments, attachments and custom fields. You can control what to sync and what not, and much more ....

Hi @Rodrigo Illera there are a variety of PaaS applications out there for you to use. They are 3rd party tool to sync/clone tickets between servers and apps. 

I'll note, you can do this via API too, but it would be harder to setup and maintain in most cases. 

We had an overall good experience with ConnectALL, by Go2Group. This is an expensive tool to use, but it is powerful and will work with VPN restrictions are in place.
