×Hello,
I'm looking for any advice for redirection problem in jira ServiceDesk.
Architecture overview:
One instance.
Many projects. Each project has each own Customer Portal (by Theme Extension addon).
One main address ex. abc.company.com
I would like users to logon one address ( abc.company.com) to reach different Project Customer Portals.
Example:
userXYZ logs on abc.company.com, after authentication user is automatically redirected to abc.company.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/2
userABC logs on abc.company.com, after authentication user is automatically redirected to abc.company.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/3
Any ideas how to configure such approach? Any add-ons? Any external apps made for that purpose?
thx
The following link explains how you can configure external user permissions to access particular portals within a single Jira Service Management instance:
I hope that answers your question. If not, please explain the specifics.
best,
Kris
@Kris G _Alacriz_ Our version 4.9.5.
Our Projects were configured the same as mentioned in your first recommendation.
Our case:
1. Customer user is logging on abc.company.com
2. Customer is redirected to https://abc.company.com/servicedesk/customer/portals which is "top level" of Portal aka Help Center.
3. Customer sees one project on Help Center
4. Customer needs to click one more time to move to his projetc's portal ex https://abc.company.com/servicedesk/customer/portals/2
Of course, here Customer is able to see all projects where he is allowed to, that's why on screen there is only one item.
I would like to skip this intermediate step. Customer should reach https://abc.company.com/servicedesk/customer/portals/2 automatically after launching abc.company.com, if he is allowed to only one project.

Yes, I understood your issue and perhaps there could be some configuration tweak you need to make.
You can also try it out on 4.10.0 and see how it behaves. These versions may be dealing with this scenario differently that I am not aware of.

Kris

Thanks Kris,
If I understood correctly your hints, no - this is not the answer:)
Im looking for solution that allow customer user to logon directly to his project.
After logon at https://abc.company.com user is redirected to
https://abc.company.com/servicedesk/customer/portals which is HelpCenter view.
Then user is able to choose one and only visible project. I would like to skip this unnecessary step for customer user.
best regards
Michal

That's interesting, @Michal Sarna .
What version of JSM are you on?
I tried it, just to double-check, on my JSM 4.10.0 and it works just fine. No apps involved. When my user User A logs in, it is directed straight away to Test A customer portal. Same with User B who is directed right away to Test B customer portal. There are no intermediate pages or screens.
Can you please try ONLY the steps outlined in the article I shared?
Here is another interesting link I found that may be useful - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Service-Management/How-to-hide-a-project-from-the-Customer-Portal/qaq-p/700739
Let me know how it goes.
best,
Kris
