On Atlassian Summit (I think it was during a keynote) an integration of AWS in Jira Service Desk was mentioned.
So that an AWS-Instance (EC2, with predefined Content) could be provisioned.
Is there any official readable news about that?
Kind regards
André
Sounds like you are referring to the upcoming AWS Service Catalog Connector for Jira Service Desk (the preview has been announced in the keynote around the 14:54 mark).
As illustrated in the keynote, AWS Service Catalog allows you to "centrally manage commonly deployed IT services, and helps you achieve consistent governance and meet your compliance requirements, while enabling users to quickly deploy only the approved IT services they need".
Due to being based on AWS CloudFormation, this naturally supports any kind of IT services that can be provisioned on AWS one way or another, including EC2 instances with predefined content. There is a AWS Service Catalog Reference Architecture on GitHub that illustrates how different types of IT services can be provisioned, for example:
I think the AWS Service Catalog Connector for Jira Service Desk preview has not yet been officially published, but according to a Summit theater presentation, it should be available anytime soon. If you want to get an early taste about what Service Catalog has to offer from an IT perspective, you might want to check out the already available integration with the competition:
Cheers!
Thanks Steffen!
