×In our customer portal, we have a number of forms where we have pre-selected an option from a drop-down field, and the field is required.
When the customer simply accepts the pre-selected value of the required field without ever touching the control, Jira treats the field as being empty when the customer submits the form, and the form fails the "required field" validation.
Hi Service Desk,
It sounds like the value is preset on the field context and is not preset on the Request Type. Review the Hidden Fields on that request type an make sure the default value is set there. Cheers!
The value is NOT set at the field level. Rather, I have hidden certain fields on the Request Type and pre-selected answers to the single-choice select list fields. I have also prefilled a user-picker field, and there's no issues with that.

Then you are missing something in your configuration, please review it. You have described something that should work, but doesn't. There are configurations outside of the request type that can impact portal submission. Is there a condition or validator on the create transition of the workflow that is blocking? Is there a permission scheme misconfiguration for the service desk customers? Cheers!
