Knowledge Base unlink to a confluence space?

Hi, Everyone.

In Project Settings -> Knowledge base, when I select "Don't link to a Confluence base" (when there is already one linked), I get the following cryptic message:

"This will delete the link to the Confluence knowledge base. All the currently stored configuration information will be removed."

I get the "delete the link" part.  But what does the second sentence mean, specifically?  What information will be removed?  I don't want to do this before I know what the risk is.

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Michael Aniskovich

You won't lose content on the space. Essentially, "the currently stored configuration information" the message is referring to is the KB parameters you've got on the KB settings, i.e. access (either all active users or licensed users), request types and the automatic search you restricted by labels.

Also, the section "Related knowledge base articles" within your Jira issues, with your respective references to the articles, will be removed.

It's important to mention that if you create back the same link with your Confluence space, your related knowledge base articles will show up again within your Jira issues but not your KB configuration though.

Cheers.

Thank you, Ivan.  I think there should be a hotlink to what you describe.

I've done that in the past and nothing got removed, nevertheless I suggest you double check by creating a simple project with a page in confluence linked and do the test on it so you can ensure there is no data loss.

You can always do a backup of the space as well
