How do you create a linked issue in the New Issue View on Jira Service Desk?
There used to be an option (three dots, top right) to 'Create Linked Issue' and I cannot see this on the New Issue View.
Create Linked Issue is now available in the new issue view of Jira Service Desk. It can be accessed as a link via the "Link issue" button:
Thank you!
I spent some time looking for that.

To be honest, I sometimes wonder if Atlassian UX designers actually interview real people using their products every day, and if so – what planet are these from...
So if I come to a JSD/JSM issue in the New Issue View, with a clear action in my mind to create a linked issue, I can't do that from the action menu anymore, no sir, and can't do it from the "." shortcut, nope... I have to click Link, then Link Issue, then though the screen auto-scrolls to the Linked Issues panel (presumably giving me the chanсe to review the issues already linked before creating a duplicate) I still need to drag my mouse down to click the Create Linked Issue to finally get to the dialog I wanted all along... In what universe is this better?
And mind you, while the following is the statement for some reason underlying why this very useful feature can't be added to Jira Software projects (as if Developers never ever create linked issues for Support or for Ops teams)...
The Create Linked Issue feature is most frequently used by support teams (in JSM) or business teams (in Jira Core) to raise bugs, improvements etc in the backlogs of software teams. Hence why it exists in those two products / project types.
... the default target project when invoked from an issue in a Service project ... is still the same Service project (after how many years of this feature existence?) i.e. as a user I still need to click even more to actually submit the issue the way I want it.

Hello Sam,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Currently, the option to create linked issue is not available in the new issue view. We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:
Please, click on vote and watch in order to hear about updates on the development cycle.
Regards,
Angélica

This is a feature used over 100 times a week within our Service Desk. We cannot move to the New Issue View without this.

Yes an ABSOLUTE MUST, we need this feature back. It is disrupting our workflow. Not acceptable!

This is a Stopper in terms of the new jira view with Service desk!

This is seriously effecting our workflow. Why would you get rid of a core feature and not have an alternative in place...i dont understand!?!
Whoever made this decision clearly never thought of the technical implications!
Please sort it out asap.

Hi @Caroline Bartle is there any way to create a linked issue from the issue view in a software project? This is what I see:
But in a service desk project I see an additional link below showing "+ Create linked issue". Is there any way to have that link here as well?

I'm afraid not @Matias - this functionality is only available in Service Management and Business projects.

I'm afraid that there are no plans to release it to Jira Software anytime soon.
