Organization - automatically set

Hello togehter,

We are using customer from Assets management - and also a customfield "customer" on all create issue screens. I want to copy the customer name from the customfield to the system field organization when a agent open a new ticket. 

Is there a option to copy the value of the customfield "customer" to the organization? I was trying different ways but it doesn't works.

The only way is to create a automation:

  • Trigger: Issue created
  • Condition by JQL: Customer  = "ABC"
  • Edit Issue: Organization "ABC"

We have many customers and I want to use a smarter way then to create a lot of automations.

Is there a way to override the organization from a customfield?

@DG If you have the organization already setup with customers in it, why are you setting the custom field when you can just have the application set it on the create issue.  What am I missing?

Hello Brant,
We use the Assets to connect e.g. CI data, such as customers, contact persons, Confluence pages or customer special informations.

This is all datas cannot be linked to the organization.
