I am looking for the permissions to show a colleague in Service Desk the Customers. What permissions must be set to make the Customer icon active and that the colleague can view the customers? See image, outlined in red.
If you have assigned Service management license to your colleague and added him/her as an agent (Service Desk Team role) in your project, then they will be able to view/add customers in that project. Hope this helps.

Yep, only JSM licensed users with the Sevice Desk team role are able to see the JSM features in a JSM project: e.g. SLAs, Customers, Organizations, Canned responses, etc.
