×Hi,
Can someone tell me how to set the approver in the Change Management workflow for JIRA Service Desk workflow to the component lead? Rather than users selecting an approver for a change request I want Jira to pick up the relevant approver from the component lead field.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Yogesh,
You can do this with add-on(s):
1. Jira Workflow Toolbox - Post Function Copy parsed text field. You can copy "Components leaders" to Approvers.
OR
2. Scriptrunner - Groovyscript to assign approver's the component lead (sorry, unable to provide the script)
Hope that helps
Susan

Hi @Dermot Tobin,
Create a role called Approver and set the default members for this so whenever you are creating a new project it will automatically be assigned to those default member to it.
Default members will apply only when the new project will create.

Hi @Yogesh Mude,
Thanks for your reply. I should've given more background, we are implementing JIRA Service desk and we have a number of people responsible for different areas of infrastructure i.e. Active Directory is managed by one person and the virtual environment managed by another. I've setup each of these as separate components with the relevant persons assigned as the component lead. What I'm looking to do is that if a change request is made in relation to active directory for example then the request approver would be automatically designated via the component lead.
Thanks
Dermot
